Ok, I was very hesitant to visit this property after reading all the negative posts but I have to say I had a great time. There are very good Cherokee Indian Museum/Displays, crafts, and history that you can view/shop. Nearby is the tourist and/or cultural center for the Cherokee indians. The hotel tower has some great views on the upper floors. The Smoky Moutains are a wonderous site, especially in the fall. The best aspect of this casino is it's location and the views from select rooms in the hotel towers. Drinks are available this year, but you have to pay for them whereas they are 'free' elsewhere. Also, while the food has been comp in Cherokee, the quality, selection and variety are much better at their other main resorts. I'd rate Cherokee as average.as I've had better luck winning in Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Slots were digital as well until the casino built it's hotel complex/towers. Cherokee is different in that all table games are electronic. I've been to their casinos in Phoenix, Kansas City, St. The comps are great and I've used them at Harrah's properties in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Laughlin, Reno, New Orleans. Since then, I've been on Harrah's Diamond Status for the past 12 years.
I first went into a Harrah's casino in Cherokee, NC in January, 1999.
